Apple Intelligence grows at WWDC25

Live Translation, more visual intelligence, and a Foundation Models API for apps — on-device, and only on supported hardware.

At WWDC25 Apple announced more Apple Intelligence on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch, and Vision Pro: Live Translation in conversations, visual intelligence on what is on screen, and richer Image Playground and Genmoji. Shortcuts can call the models. Developers get the on-device Foundation Models framework.

The features shipped later with iOS 26 and the rest of the “26” OS family. Supported devices start at iPhone 16 and 15 Pro, iPad mini with A17 Pro, and M1 Macs and iPads. Language support is limited; more languages were promised by year end.

On-device is a privacy claim you can test: does the feature work offline? If it calls a server, that is a different product than the keynote line.
